Just last month, Delivering Good had the great pleasure to honor three fantastic women who are inspirational leaders not only in their respective fields, but also to those who are grateful to call them their friends and family. Our 12th Annual Women of Inspiration Luncheon, held on Wednesday, June 6th at The Pierre Hotel, was an outstanding event and both the honorees as well as those who attended, filled the room with a vibrant and positive energy. Attendees had the utmost excitement to hear our two powerhouse special guests and amazing honorees speak about their work in regards to both social issues and their contributions to their respective fields. Our first guest, Mr. Stan Herman, an award-winning designer and former president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, hosted the event and enlightened attendees about his journey and philanthropic efforts.
Our featured speaker, Ms. Jodi Kantor, is a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter for The New York Times and a best-selling author. Ms. Kantor has now become most notably known for her fearless and groundbreaking story on the decades of sexual allegations towards producer Harvey Weinstein. Her efforts and tireless work have provided numerous women to come out of the shadows and bring the topic of sexual abuse in the workplace to the forefront.
Our Women of Inspiration honorees are path-breaking individuals who have distinguished themselves in the worlds of fashion, entertainment and philanthropy. Our first honoree, Ms. Carole Hochman, is the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Creative Officer, Director, and Chairwoman of Naked Brands. Ms. Hochman is currently one of the most influential women in the intimate apparel and sleepwear business in the U.S. After learning about the industry through hands-on experiences with both Bergdorf Goodman and Bonwit Teller, she was employed at a small New York-based intimate apparel design firm where she passionately worked and, in 1985, re-named the company to Carole Hochman Design Group. A pioneer in her field and with over 30 years of experience, Ms. Hochman decided to begin her new journey by creating her own company, Naked Brands Group. Ms. Hochman has also served on the board of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Our second honoree is the President of Viacom/Nickelodeon Global Consumer Products, Ms. Pam Kaufman. Ms. Kaufman is truly a dynamic leader who embraces transformation and innovation and is the driving force behind some of Nickelodeon’s most iconic franchises such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and PAW Patrol. She has turned her franchise-building expertise into a winning consumer products portfolio across all retail aisles and classes of trade. She has also solidified deep partnerships with top retailers such as Walmart and Target and with co-brands and collaborations that range from Jeremy Scott and Carmelo Anthony to Vans and many more. With numerous acclaims under her belt such as Entertainment Marketer of the Year by Advertising Age and Grand Marketer of the Year by Brandweek, Ms. Kaufman is undoubtedly a powerhouse in the entertainment industry.
Last, but definitely not the least, our final honoree was Dr. Taryn Rose, both founder and strategic adviser of her Taryn Rose footwear brand. Dr. Rose has been able to effortlessly intertwine her knowledge from being a respected orthopedic surgeon with her passion for fashion. She has created innovative comfort technology with luxurious materials all while making sure that her shoes are affordable to all. In fact, due to her immense love for giving back, Dr. Rose, in partnership with Delivering Good, was able to create and donate over 5,000 shoes to various community partners for women in need. She strongly believes in the power fashion has in boosting an individual’s confidence.
Each honoree mesmerized the audience with their captivating stories about hard work and determination. The event was surely one not to be missed, so make sure to keep an eye out for next year’s luncheon!
