As we continue to highlight the incredible honorees and speakers for our 13th annual Women of Inspiration Luncheon, we share with you Keynote Speaker, Jennifer Dulski, whose passion for philanthropy empowers others to do good. Author of the Wall Street Journal bestseller, “Purposeful: Are You a Manager or a Movement Starter?,” Dulski has constructed a career and life that is devoted to making an impact both within a small community and throughout the world.
As the former Head of Groups & Community at Facebook, Dulski felt she was able to see the “best of humanity” in people who start communities to bring others together around a huge range of topics that people care about. They range from support groups around health issues and natural disasters to groups that create connections around every hobby imaginable, like “Back of the Pack” for people who love to run but run really slowly, so they all get together and run in the back. Through her leadership roles at Facebook and Change.org, Dulski says she is incredibly inspired by regular people who step forward and say “I’m going to start a community, or start a movement, or to do something to make the world a better place.”
When asked about women who inspire her, Dulski says, “Every person is a mentor and every experience is a lesson” and believes there are so many great examples of women doing inspiring things. She reflected on her mother, saying, “She taught me a lot about determination and not giving up. She is a person who has a physical disability, changed careers in mid-life, and was able to stick through all of the challenges in her life and become extremely successful. She focused a lot on giving back to others.”
Dulski shares that her purpose in life is to help empower other people to live out their purpose, “I believe that if I can be the accelerator for millions of other people to each ignite change that I will be massively more effective than trying to drive any one particular change myself.”
When describing success, Dulski says, “One of Maya Angelou’s quotes that has always resonated with me is: ‘Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.’” She says this quote has guided her in life: “The ‘liking what you do’ part has led me to focus on empowering other people to be their best selves and do what matters to them most in the world.”
Delivering Good is thrilled to have Dulski as Keynote Speaker at our 13th annual Women of Inspiration Luncheon on June 12th at the Pierre Hotel. For more information about the event, please click here.
