El Salvador is Central America’s smallest country, yet the most densely populated. Approximately 36.5% of the population lives in poverty. This quarter, we’re highlighting the Salvadoran American Humanitarian Foundation and the work they do with children, families and young adults in El Salvador. As one of Delivering Good’s community partners, the Salvadoran American Humanitarian Foundation (SAHF), through their in-country sister foundation FUSAL, distributes new product donations to their community. We spoke with SAHF to discuss the work that we do together and the community that they serve in El Salvador.
SAHF believes that clothing donations can dramatically improve the lives of those in El Salvador, helping to “empower Salvadorans to work towards a better future.” One recent donation of new suits was distributed to senior students at public school in El Salvador. One student recipient expressed his gratitude to the Delivering Good and Salvadoran American Humanitarian Foundation teams and said, “These suits will be very helpful for us, especially during all of the academic and professional activities that will be coming up. They will help us a lot with our personal presentation!”
So far, donations to SAHF from Delivering Good have been distributed to 25 educational institutions and social projects, benefiting approximately 21,168 people. SAHF says that our partnership has “allowed [SAHF] to meet the goal of providing our beneficiaries with donations that improve their self-esteem, cleanliness/hygiene, better presentation and self-assurance, while searching for a better future.” Delivering Good is proud to partner with SAHF and support the El Salvadoran community!
