For those experiencing challenging circumstances, obtaining food can be a source of stress. Farm Share ensures that through its over 2,000 partnering agencies across the state of Florida, individuals can have one less thing to worry about. Since the inception of the partnership between Delivering Good and Farm Share in 2017, over 307,000 pounds of shoes, apparel, furniture, baby items, home goods and cleaning products have been distributed to families and individuals in need.
With Delivering Good’s efficiency, Farm Share distributed more than 2.2 million pounds of food, water and supplies in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Michael. As recovery efforts continued, over 3.1 million pounds of food and supplies were provided, while Farm Share’s own facility ran without power for eight days. In the deep areas of south Miami-Dade County where there are many homeless shelters, over 8,700 pounds of new apparel were distributed to people in need. The organization distributed over 3 million pounds of food and supplies to 297,000 households through distribution events throughout Florida.
“It is estimated that approximately 8,828,370 households were supported through these gifts from Delivering Good,” says Eva Rivera, Trucking and Logistics Coordinator at Farm Share. Delivering Good also provided furniture to help rebuild the lives of families.
