Hurricane Harvey left a devastating mark on the Houston community. Many families and individuals lost everything and the Houston Area Urban League (HAUL) stepped up and took action. After partnering with Delivering Good, the organizations established pop-up shops to distribute new products ranging from apparel, accessories, shoes, home furnishings, toys, books, and school supplies to over 3,000 individuals affected by the hurricane.
“The families HAUL supports have experienced many changes due to the services provided through the partnership with Delivering Good,” says Program Manager Rommell Williams. “Many of the families are struggling to recover from the storm and did not have resources to purchase new school clothes for their kids. HAUL has been able to donate jackets, shoes and under garments to families in high poverty school zones.”
