For a kid, going back to school on the first day with a new outfit helps instill confidence. In its 3rd year partnering with Delivering Good, Solid As A Rock has expanded its mission from helping a few to helping hundreds. “Many families have had joyful holidays and children have had a boost in their self-esteem with the new clothes that they have received,” says Vice President Joseph Watson, of the items distributed by Delivering Good.
Watson recalls one particular story that has stayed with him. A proactive case worker had found that a foster child in her care, had been living in a place that was infested with bed bugs. The next day, she came to the organization’s office, and to her surprise, had received a box full of brand new clothes for the child. “The worker broke down and started crying and thanking God because she couldn’t believe the blessing,” Watson shared.
A dedicated and devoted community partner to Delivering Good, Solid As A Rock hopes to create an annual shoe and clothing drive and to begin serving the citizens of Alabama.
