Delivering Good is proud to welcome four new industry leaders with diverse professional backgrounds to our board of directors. Vince Adams, Stacy Berns, Todd Everett and Hebe Schecter will join the 32 other industry leaders on our board and provide expert insights in key areas in support of the organization’s mission.
“Contributing to the social good has become more important than ever within the retail industry, and these new board members will bring specific, useful experience to our leadership as we implement our strategic vision plan over the next few years and continue to help people in the most need,” said Andrea Weiss, Chair of Delivering Good. “These executives will add to our deep bench of industry expertise in the key areas of retail apparel, marketing and communications, apparel and home manufacturing, and distribution and operations, as well as adding geographic diversity to our board.”
Vince Adams, Chief Financial Officer for Banana Republic, will provide Delivering Good with excellent insights into retail chains and strategic planning.
Stacy Berns, Founder and President of Berns Communications Group, will help Delivering Good share its story with an even wider audience by providing communications expertise.
Todd Everett brings over 20 years of C-level and executive leadership experience in supply chain, transportation and logistics at companies that include Intel Corporation, Newgistics and Pitney Bowes. His shipping and distribution knowledge will help Delivering Good improve deliveries of donated merchandise to those in need.
Hebe Schecter, CEO of Kaltex North America and President of Kaltex America, will provide Delivering Good with valuable insights into the manufacture of apparel and home products. The Kaltex divisions are part of Grupo Kaltex, one of the largest textile manufacturing companies in the world, headquartered in Mexico City.
“This year marks the 35th anniversary of Delivering Good, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by new product donations from hundreds of companies in the fashion, home and children’s industries,” said President & CEO Lisa Gurwitch. “Donating new merchandise provides these companies with a simple and effective way to help millions of kids, adults and families in need.” The organization started as Kids In Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.), providing disaster and poverty relief with new products and apparel for children. Separately, Fashion Delivers provided donations of adult apparel and home items for disaster and poverty relief, and in 2014 the two nonprofits merged; the name Delivering Good was adopted in 2017. Since the founding in 1985, over $2 billion of donated product has been distributed through a network of community partners across the country.
