Delivering Good Company of Change Award: Shinola

Delivering Good’s Annual Gala is coming up on November 6. This year, Delivering Good is awarding our first ever Company of Change Award, to honor and celebrate companies doing important work in the nonprofit space. This year’s recipient is Detroit-based Shinola, a luxury design brand with an unwavering commitment to crafting products that are built to last – from timepieces to leather goods, jewelry to audio.

Founded in 2011, the company operates an in-house watch and leather factory on the fifth floor of the historic Argonaut Building, where artisans hand assemble luxury timepieces and crafts premium leather straps. Through skilled training, Shinola works to create opportunities for its team members and support the local workforce by partnering with legacy companies across the country and around the world that are also committed to the company’s values.

Detroit is an underdog and Shinola is a classic American success story. Since their founding, they have hired hundreds of people in Detroit and throughout the country, building a global brand in a local city and becoming what many call the first great nonautomotive brand out of Detroit in decades.

Shinola is dedicated to serving the people of Detroit while building their globally successful brand. We are grateful for their support of the city of Detroit, the United States and giving back and are proud to award them the 2019 Company of Change Award.
