On July 31, Delivering Good joined our friends at KIDBOX to celebrate a young generation of leaders. The annual KIDBOX Kids Board day celebrated these young people and looked towards a brighter future.
The day began with remarks from Haim Dabah, KIDBOX Founder, Chairman, and Chief Giving Officer and Delivering Good board member, Brandi Temple, KIDBOX Chief Community Officer, Lisa Gurwitch, Delivering Good President, and Jinji Nicole, Inspirational Speaker. We were all inspired to hear the Kids Board members vision for a future world: one where love and kindness rule and all people have access to a home and clean air and water.
The day concluded with a visit to Cherry Kids Inc. As a longtime community partner of Delivering Good, Cherry Kids is an after-school center that provides assistance and support to working families in Harlem.

This year’s KIDBOX Kids Board members are:
Jahkil Jackson, Age 11, Chicago Illinois: Jahkil started an organization called Project I Am to create awareness of homelessness and inspire youth to be involved in their communities.
Havana Chapman-Edwards, Age 8, Virginia: Havana started a book club called #37Books with her choir after learning about a study by Scholastic that shows African-American children have an average of 37 fewer books than white children. She donates books to her choir to encourage literacy and representation in literature.
Gabriel Benitez, Age 12, San Diego California: Gabriel works with the non-profit organization Build a Miracle to raise money to build homes for families in need in Tijuana, Mexico.
Franiya Tiffany, Age 9, Florida: Franiya is the author of two books and the creator of the Love Your Art and Shine talent show, which gives kids an opportunity to shine and share their talents.
Tamia Hawkins, Age 12, St. Louis Missouri: Tamia is inspiring kids in her community through her baking business by showing them that they don’t have to wait to start pursuing their dreams.
Michael Wren, Age 11, St. Louis Missouri: Michael “Mikey” Wren is an 11 year old entrepreneur and author. He is an author of two books and hosted a community toy drive, collecting over 425 toys that were donated to kids.
Mari Copeney, Age 11, Michigan: Mari has raised over $250,000 to fix the water crisis in Flint and has given out over a million bottles of water.
Michelle Moreno, Age 8, Florida: Michelle helps people in her community get access to clean drinking water by raising money for the nonprofit Charity Water.
Isabella Davis, Age 10, North Carolina: Bella has worked to repair her community after Hurricane Florence. She collected over 500 toothbrushes to give to hurricane survivors and works with a nonprofit, Saving Grace K9, to match service dogs with disabled veterans.
Ryan Hickman, Age 9, California: Ryan leads beach cleans in his community to keep trash out of our oceans and landfills. He supports the Pacific Marine Mammal Center and volunteers with Recycle Across America.
