Retailers and manufacturers are integral to achieving Delivering Good’s mission, but so are individuals who help make it happen with financial donations.
Luanne Whiting-Lager, Co-Owner and VP/CEO of Regal Lager, a distributor of high quality baby products, first heard about Delivering Good at the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) in Dallas several years ago. Since then, she has developed a close relationship with Delivering Good, and was deeply inspired by the organization’s focus on new product versus discarded or used product.
Ms. Whiting-Lager is not new to philanthropy – she attributes her desire to give back to her family and her upbringing. “I was raised an Army brat. My father served our country and volunteered as a coach for many sports teams. My mother volunteered every place we lived, in hospitals and schools and everything in between. My first real memory of serving and giving was as a Brownie and Girl Scout. In high school and college, I spent two summers in Central America volunteering on public health issues with remote communities. I also volunteered at our local Women’s Clinic.”
“It is so important to recognize financial donors who regularly support us,” says Delivering Good President and CEO, Lisa Gurwitch. “Building a strong network of donors allows us to provide hope and dignity every day. We’re so grateful for the generosity of our supporters – they enable us to touch the lives of millions in the U.S. and abroad each year.”
Ms. Whiting-Lager is a member of Delivering Good’s Loyalty Circle, which recognizes supporters who have made monetary donations for two or more consecutive years.
When asked Whiting-Lager what she wanted to pass on to future generations, this is what she had to say. “My husband has used his 5 A’s (Ambition, Attitude, Adaptability, Accountability & Active) and drilled that into our two daughters. While I embrace all of these, I have also talked about my 4 R’s – Relationships, Respect, Responsibility & Risk. Kindness is another word I would hope my children and granddaughter will embrace for the future.” She is certainly having a positive impact on her family, community and the beneficiaries of Delivering Good.
