Director of Finance and Administration
Position Description: Nonprofit Director of Finance and Administration About Delivering Good (formerly K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers): Delivering Good, Inc. is the charity of choice for new product donations made by hundreds of companies in the fashion, home and children’s industries. Donating new merchandise provides these companies with a simple and effective way to help people in need. Founded over 30 years ago, Delivering Good is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that unites retailers, manufacturers, foundations and individuals to support people affected by poverty and tragedy nationally and abroad. Since 1985, over $1.8 billion of apparel, accessories, shoes, home furnishings, toys, books and other useful items have been distributed through our network of community partners. The annual operating budget of Delivering Good is approximately $3.8 million. Delivering Good was created from the 2014 merger of Kids in Distressed Situations and Fashion Delivers. In May 2017, the organization rebranded as “Delivering Good” to reflect focused, ongoing support for children and families facing poverty and disaster. The organization is governed by an actively engaged 37 person board of directors who are industry leaders in the apparel, juvenile products, fashion, shoe, home and related enterprises respectively. Title: Director of Finance and Administration Job Purpose: The Director of Finance and Administration, reporting to the President/CEO, will ensure the successful financial and related operations of the organization. The Director of Finance and Administration will be a key member of the leadership team. The Director of Finance and Administration will take an entrepreneurial approach to ensuring the effective management of financial resources. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance and operations leader to strengthen the internal capacity of a respected and effective organization. Responsibilities:  • Finance: oversee external finance consultants and/or internal staff; liaison with Finance and Investment Committee; lead annual budget preparation and monthly monitoring; manage cash flow, monitor proper treatment of reserve and endowment funds; ensure timely filing and compliance with applicable state and federal tax and charitable solicitation laws and regulations; maintain banking and investment relationships • Accounting: preparation and presentation of monthly financial statements; oversee gifts-in-kind valuation processes, program and grants accounting; approve expenses and oversee payables process • Audit: liaison with Audit Committee; coordinate audit and 990 preparation with external auditors; oversee auditor review process • Real Estate: maintain relationship with landlord, lead search for new space as necessary • Human Resources: Maintain relationship with professional employer organization (PEO) provider, including submission of payroll, benefits, retirement plan. Responsibility for overseeing compensation and benefits recommendations; hiring, training, performance evaluation • Technology: Coordinate with technology consultants and vendors to manage computer systems and needs; lead any technology selection processes; security and integrity; cybersecurity, phone system • Policies: Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices, including gift acceptance, financial procedures, product valuations, etc. • Insurance: Annual review of all insurance policies Requirements: • Passion for community service and social welfare • 5 – 8 years of overall professional experience with signification financial and operations management experience in the nonprofit sector • Experience in financial reporting, review of quality and content of financial data, reporting and audit coordination. • Experience developing and implementing nonprofit organizational policies and procedures and oversight for legal and compliance matters • Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and relationships with software vendors; implementation of new processes and systems that increase efficiency; knowledge of accounting and reporting software • Desire to work collaboratively in a small team environment, combined with comfort in working with senior industry executives • Experience/Interest in fashion, retail, or similar field highly desirable • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA/MPA/CPA or related degree preferred. Fundraising/Special Events Intern

Title: Fundraising and Special Events Intern Job Purpose: The Fundraising and Special Events Intern reporting to the Director of Development will provide support to the development team. The Fundraising and Special Events Intern will assist with the implementation of event logistics and planning, as well research current and prospective fundraising partners. This internship will provide the selected candidate with first hand fundraising and special events experience working with the Delivering Good Development Team. Interns will gain insight with corporate, individual, foundation and special event fundraising with focus on raising necessary funds to fulfill mission activities. Key Responsibilities: • Research current and prospective fundraising partners including individuals, corporations, and foundations • Develop, implement, and execute peer to peer fundraising platforms with development staff • Create and compile event materials • Assist with the implementation of event logistics and planning • Participate in fundraising strategy meetings and events Skill Sets:         Detail oriented         Ability to multi-task         Very personable, and comfortable talking to people in a professional manner         Ability to work as part of team Requirements: • Intern must be available for 20 hours per week • This internship would be from January to June 2019. • Must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program • Must be knowledgeable about excel, word, and powerpoint . Executive Assistant to President/CEO

Job Purpose: The Executive Assistant position serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the CEO. The Executive Assistant also serves as a liaison to the board of directors and management teams; organizes and coordinates executive outreach and external relations efforts; and oversees special projects. He/she will assist the CEO with a broad range of activities, including providing technical, clerical and administrative assistance in projects. General Responsibilities:  Manage day-to-day calendar, plan and schedule meetings and travel and assist the President/CEO in staying on track with daily schedule.  Manage all incoming requests into the executive office (via mail, phone or email) and make certain they are addressed.  Coordinate and plan Board and Committee Meetings, creating agendas, setting up conference calls and in-person meetings, and taking meeting minutes. Coordinate other Board activities and work collaboratively with the Development Department on organizational events.  Prepare correspondence, memos, presentations, etc. Assist with the preparation, editing, and proof-reading of presentations and reports (requires PowerPoint, Excel, and other presentation software skills).  Expense and meeting report preparation.  Coordinate site visits for staff and board.  Project Reports - Undertake special projects under the direction of the President/CEO Take on leadership role in staff committees.  Crosstrain with Development Associate for development support.  Maintain President/CEO records in fundraising database.  Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Desired Skills and Experience  Commitment to community service and social welfare  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent  Minimum 5 years of administrative training, with executive level support/ assistance  Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Fundraising Databases, and the Web  Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to handle and prioritize numerous projects  Strong verbal and excellent written communication skills (including proofreading) in English and strong interpersonal skills  Excellent judgment and able to maintain confidentiality  High attention to detail and effective donor and volunteer stewardship  Strong IT skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point required  Knowledge in basic accounting  Proficiency in database coding and reporting a plus  Flexible, energetic, dependable, team player, and a decision maker Compensation and benefits: Salary commensurate with experience. We are looking for bright, creative and hard-working individuals who can reach children and families living in poverty. These are not paid positions, but we are happy to work with your school to arrange for course credit.
