Message from the Board Chair
Dear Friends,
Delivering Good was founded more than 37 years ago to support the needs of families and individuals affected by loud moments of disaster and humanitarian crisis and the quieter moments of struggle with poverty, homelessness, workforce reentry, and a host of other social issues.
Because of that history, when war broke out in Ukraine in late February, we had a plan in place to identify key nonprofit partners in Eastern Europe who could connect the generosity of our product and financial donors with those that had left everything behind to flee the conflict. In total, we provided nearly 700,000 units of critically needed new products valued at over $2.6 million. In addition to new clothing and other supplies, we gave more than $75,000 in financial grants to 3 select organizations working on the ground in Europe.
Those loud moments happened again when devastating flooding hit parts of Kentucky and Hurricane Ian tore through Florida in October. For each of these crises, Delivering Good was there, providing the new items that gave hope, relief, and comfort to many of the people who lost so much to these storms.
Amidst the loudness, Delivering Good continued to support the quieter moments, the families living in poverty, individuals seeking new opportunities, children in foster care, military families, and many more. Through our nationwide network of Community Partners, we channeled more than 15 million units of donated new clothing, toys, school supplies, shoes, housewares, and much more into the hands of people who needed it instead of landfills, helping not only those who received the products, but companies seeking a sustainable way to deal with their excess inventory.
Behind the scenes at Delivering Good, we launched the search for a new CEO to guide the organization into the future and in July, we were pleased to welcome Matthew Fasciano as Delivering Good’s new President and CEO. Matthew brings deep experience and a commitment to public service that make him the ideal person to lead the organization through the challenges of a post-COVID world and I am excited to work with him and the entire team to continue to meet the needs of our communities.
Andrea Weiss
Chair, Delivering Good Board of Directors
Message from the President & CEO
Dear Friends,
In taking on the role of President and CEO, I am very appreciative of the incredible groundwork laid by my predecessors, the talented Delivering Good team, and our dedicated Board as well as the critical support provided by our many product and financial donors that makes it possible for us to enact our mission every day. Delivering Good is an organization that changes lives by providing much more than just things. Our focus on connecting NEW items with individuals who often go without infuses each piece of clothing, each toy, each pair of shoes with a sense of dignity and pride. It’s a practical mission with heart and I wanted to be a part of it.
I’m pleased that in my first few months as CEO we achieved some great things. We exceeded our annual product goal and connected more than 15 million units of new product valued at $154 million with communities in need, we mounted a response to the natural disasters across Kentucky and Florida, launched a circularity pilot program with The Children’s Place and Give Back Box to explore pros/cons of accepting vetted product returns, and our annual gala event, a critical fundraiser for the organization, raised more than $2.1 million – a record amount.
It’s a great way to end 2022 but there is a lot of work ahead of us to meet the expected increased need for our services driven by a volatile economy, loss of employment, increase in natural disasters, and a reduction in emergency benefits.
Our focus remains on expanding our network of brand partners so we can provide more of the items that are most needed by our communities. To complement the product, we will be developing a measurement system to better understand our impact on the people we serve and to learn what additional services and supports are needed to get the most out of the product we provide. Finally, financial resources are essential to all of our efforts, and we will develop a more diversified fundraising program to engage a wider circle of individuals, companies, and institutional supporters in our work.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead this amazing organization and to be part of a dynamic team that is committed to our work. Together, with our incredibly generous network of product donors and financial supporters, we are making a real difference in the lives of families and individuals across the US and beyond.
Matthew Fasciano

Voices from Our Communities
Poverty & Other Social Issues
Cherry Kids, Harlem NYC
Cherry Kids is a Community Partner that provides afterschool programs for children living in East Harlem as well as supports for the parents to help strengthen the family and pave a pathway to success. Poverty in East Harlem is 23%, more than double the national rate making it a challenging environment for children to learn and grow.
In August 2022 Delivering Good partnered with product donor, Centric Brands for a distribution of new backpacks filled with school supplies and notes of encouragement from Centric Associates. The children chose their own backpacks and had a great time sharing the contents of their packs with each other.
Providing new backpacks and supplies not only helps excite children for school, but it also removes any stigma tied to not having the same items as other children and provides financial relief for parents who struggle to cover basic expenses for their families.
Worth Fighting For, Las Vegas, NV
Worth Fighting for is a Community Partner that rescues, rehabilitates, and provides sustainable transition for survivors of human trafficking. In December, 2022 they joined another local group to venture into the tunnels of Las Vegas to distribute a donation of 150 coats provided by Delivering Good to the people who live there. They shared their story with us:
“We partner with Shine the Light, an NGO, that goes to Las Vegas tunnels weekly. Their goal is to provide resources to get the people living there back into housing, medical care, and basic needs and out of the tunnels. There are over 600 miles of tunnels underground and 1500 people live in them.
We decided it would be easier to put on 5 jackets than to carry them. So, we were walking through the tunnels and as we would encounter people, if they needed a jacket, we would take off one of the ones we were wearing. A had an encounter with a gal, who was just coming out of her tent, it was like 9 am and she was “cleaning up and doing her tent chores”. She was wearing a robe and shivering. I offered her a coat and I had to strip down to the smallest size. (Remember I was wearing 5 jackets) I gave her an orange Ralph Lauren puffy jacket. I had worn that jacket the day before and said the person who gets this jacket will be extra special. It was so warm, and I knew it would bless someone. A few minutes later, I gave another young girl a jacket, she said she’s had a hard life and been on the streets for years.
Thank you again. You’re adding smiles to faces and warming bodies in Las Vegas.”
For people living on the fringes of society, even the most basic items of clothing like coats, underwear, and shoes can be difficult to obtain. Because of the generosity of our product donors, Delivering Good is able to provide new items that provide comfort, warmth, relief to even our most challenged neighbors.
HEROES Cares, High Ridge, MO
H.E.R.O.E.S Cares is a Community Partner that provides a range of services to help military families before, during and after deployment. In 2020, nearly a quarter of active-duty service members experienced food insecurity, according to the U.S. Department of Defense. If a household struggles to afford adequate food, other necessities like clothing, personal hygiene, and baby and infant supplies are also likely to be out of reach.
New merchandise provided by Delivering Good helps stock H.E.R.O.E.S. Cares’ Mission Depot store where military families can ‘shop’ a wide selection of new items – all free of charge. We are proud to provide relief and comfort for our service members and to be part of the dignified process H.E.R.O.E.S Cares has created for them.
Disaster Relief
4Good Community - Kentucky Floods
In July, parts of Eastern Kentucky and surrounding areas were hit by devastating floods that destroyed homes and businesses, impacting thousands of people, many of whom were already living in poverty.
Thanks to our brand partners, Delivering Good was able to be there for them, providing more than 1.4 million units of new merchandise, valued at nearly $2.4 million, including essential clothing items like underwear, t-shirts, sweats, socks, children’s clothing and more. Our local partner on the ground, 4Good Community, let us know how much the clothing we provided meant to those who had lost so much to the floods:
“Out of all the resources we distributed, clothing was the most desired. This area is a very financially depressed region, and to add the disaster to that is horrible. We had people telling us that this was the nicest clothing they have ever had during the distribution. That made us feel good to have the opportunity to replace ruined clothing with something better than before, so thank you for that opportunity!”
4Good Community - Hurricane Ian
At the end of September Hurricane Ian, the deadliest hurricane to hit Florida in decades, devastated parts of FL and the Southeastern coast. We worked with three partners to distribute more than 300,000 units of needed items valued at more than $2.6 million, to families and individuals who lost their homes and possessions to the storm.
With their mobile distribution bus, our partner 4Good Community was able to bring merchandise from Delivering Good into some of the hardest hit areas; helping provide comfort and relief to thousands of people when they needed it most.
Humanitarian Support
Ukraine Response
In early 2022 the conflict in Ukraine escalated into war and created one of the largest refugee crises in Eastern Europe since WWII. With our decades of disaster response experience and network of nonprofit and brand partners, it was only natural that Delivering Good would step up to help.
We were quickly able to identify four key partners working on the ground in Eastern Europe who helped us identify the items that were most needed by the families and individuals who had left everything behind to find safety. Our generous brand partners stepped up with incredible generosity and we were able to fill 10 shipping containers with nearly 700,000 units of new, essential supplies like underwear, socks, hoodies, blankets, baby wipes, and diapers valued at $2.7 million.
In addition to new merchandise, we provided financial grants to several organizations including World Central Kitchen to support their efforts to feed refugees and the Padre Garralda Foundation in Spain to support the resettlement of women and children from Ukraine.
Delivering Good Partnerships
Delivering Good is grateful for the partnership of many companies who support our work in a variety of ways; helping us provide new products that offer relief and comfort for millions of families and individuals dealing with poverty, disaster, and other challenges.
CONSUMER ENGAGEMENT
Ralph Lauren has been a partner for decades. In that time, they have donated millions of units of new, quality clothing, supported our annual events, and provided volunteer leadership through representation on our Board of Directors. In September, they extended their support to include the engagement of their consumers by running a weekend long shopping event where 15% of sales from their NYC stores benefitted Delivering Good. In addition to raising more than $27,000, the event helped promote awareness about Delivering Good and our work helping families and individuals.
LEADING IMPACT
Understanding that socks are one of the most needed items in homeless shelters, in 2016, Isaac Ash, Founder and President of United Legwear and Apparel Co., challenged his colleagues to donate one million pairs of socks to help the homeless. What started as a friendly challenge has turned into an initiative that provides a sense of hope and comfort to the nearly 600,000 people across the country who are homeless. In 2022, the campaign reached an incredible 11 million pairs of new socks donated and distributed to communities in need since the campaign began.
INDUSTRY SUPPORT
In 2022, Licensing International named Delivering Good as its charity of choice. The licensing industry is a great source of new relationships and connections with companies who want to do good with their excess. Through this partnership, Licensing International will work with us to identify opportunities to engage their clientele in our work and to present Delivering Good as a simple and effective business solution that can help companies meet sustainability and social impact goals.
BUILDING AWARENESS
We partnered with The Children’s Place for a media event in Los Angeles that included their brand ambassador, actress Mandy Moore. The event, hosted by a Delivering Good community partner, included a holiday meal, arts & crafts activities, and the donation of clothing for families in need. The event generated a good deal of press coverage that highlighted The Children’s Place’s generous donation as well as the work Delivering Good does connecting that donated product with families in need.
See more about this event here.
Product Donors
Delivering Good is only able to provide support and relief for people dealing with an array of social and disaster-related issues because of the generosity of our product donors who choose to donate their excess merchandise instead of discarding or destroying it. Because we sit at the crossroads of social impact and environmental sustainability, Delivering Good provides companies with a responsible way to deal with their excess that has tremendous social impact.
In 2022 our brand partners donated more than 15 million units of new merchandise valued at $154 million. This generosity helped keep children warm with new winter coats, helped individuals reentering the workplace present themselves professionally, ensured underserved children had new school supplies, provided clean socks and underwear for victims of natural disasters, and much, much more.
Centric Brands:
“We are thrilled to be a corporate partner of Delivering Good and work alongside them to support, uplift and drive equity in the communities where we live and do business. Through our partnership, we are not only able to connect with impactful organizations across North America, but create a responsible and sustainable pipeline for excess inventory to be delivered to those most in need. Our Centric Cares philosophy is to support organizations that resonate most with our associate base. Delivering Goods helps us fulfill that philosophy by connecting us with non-profits that span across a variety of cities and causes. In 2022, we had the opportunity to donate over 16,000 units of product for a total value of over $400,000 through Delivering Good.”

The Children’s Place:
“The Children’s Place is grateful for its partnership with Delivering Good and the opportunity we’ve had to collaborate on donating high quality returns to support children and parents in need. This effort is an innovative approach to our sustainability work helping us to not only support families but to prolong the life of good quality children’s clothes to minimize our waste footprint. Delivering Good’s willingness to adopt these new types of impact programs demonstrates their leadership and commitment to their partners.”
